Prior to founding Acme Packet, Mr. Ory was the founder, CEO and chairman of Priority Call Management, which produced network-based solutions that allowed service providers to offer prepaid calling, enhanced messaging and one-number services. ![]() | Patrick J. MeLampy Chief Technology Officer and Founder Mr. MeLampy brings over 24 years of communications engineering experience to his role as chief technology officer. Prior to founding Acme Packet, Mr. MeLampy served as the vice president of engineering for (PCM) from its inception in 1989 through its acquisition by the LHS Group a decade later. At PCM, Mr. MeLampy developed and supported the company's network telecommunications products and grew the engineering team from two to 75 members. Prior to PCM, he was employed at Boston Technology. Mr. MeLampy has developed intellectual property portfolios for PCM, LHS PCM, and Acme Packet. Mr. MeLampy holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Boston University. |

Minihane Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Mr. Minihane brings over 35 years of executive experience building and leading high growth technology companies to his role as CFO and Treasurer. Before coming to Acme Packet, he was CFO of Colubris Networks, a global provider of intelligent wireless local area networks for enterprises and service providers. Before that, Mr. Minihane served as CFO and COO of StarBak Communications, a streaming media company, where he led the company through multiple financing rounds with major venture capital investors. Prior to StarBak, he served in various roles – including President, COO and CFO – for Visual Networks, a leading provider of performance management systems for wide area networks. Before that, Mr. Minihane was CFO and COO of Microcom, a remote access company, where he led a successful IPO and later a merger with Compaq. He has also held senior finance positions at Sentito Networks, SKOK Systems, Automatix Inc. and Data General. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Minihane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Bentley College. |
![]() | Steven Aulds Senior Vice President of Engineering Mr. Aulds brings over three decades of engineering and development experience to his position as senior vice president (SVP) of engineering. He oversees Acme Packet’s engineering department, aligned around the service provider, enterprise, and communications enabled processes (CEP) segments. Prior to joining Acme Packet, Mr. Aulds was SVP of engineering and cloud operations at IBM, where he managed the business-to-business and commerce business unit, as well as oversaw cloud operations for the on-demand offerings. Mr. Aulds also served as SVP of engineering at Sterling Commerce, which was acquired by IBM in 2010. His team built a first-of-its-kind transaction management system and one of the first Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) products. Mr. Aulds was also senior vice president of engineering and customer service at Yantra Corporation, which was later acquired by Sterling Commerce. |
![]() | Marianne Budnik Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Budnik is responsible for Acme Packet’s overall marketing strategy and integrated market initiatives, including communications, corporate marketing, field marketing and product marketing activities. She also oversees the company’s product line management organization. An accomplished 20-year marketing veteran, Ms. Budnik offers substantial executive-level experience earned while defining and driving innovative, revenue-enhancing corporate, product, field and channel marketing programs for two of the world’s most visible technology companies. Ms. Budnik joined Acme Packet from CA Technologies, where she was CMO for the multibillion dollar provider of IT management software and solutions. Prior to joining CA Technologies, Ms. Budnik held a number of marketing leadership positions within EMC Corporation. She holds an MBA from Boston University and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Babson College. |
![]() | Matthew Cushing Senior Vice President and General Counsel Mr. Cushing brings over 16 years of experience to his role as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to joining Acme Packet, Mr. Cushing was a Partner at Bingham McCutchen, LLP, where he oversaw corporate and transactional matters for numerous clients, including Acme Packet since its inception, in various industries including software, IT, telecom, energy, manufacturing, biotech/pharmaceuticals, and on-line services. Mr. Cushing attended Fordham University of Law where he was an Associate Editor of the Fordham Law Review. At Acme Packet, Mr. Cushing is responsible for overseeing all of the legal affairs of the company. His principal areas of focus are corporate governance, compliance, international legal issues, commercial negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and rights management, and providing strategic advice to the company’s senior management team and the board of directors. |
![]() | Dino Di Palma Chief Operating Officer Mr. Di Palma brings over 15 years of executive sales experience to his role as chief operating officer. He oversees the global sales, customer service and support, and manufacturing organizations. Mr. Di Palma previously served as senior vice president of worldwide sales and business development. Prior to joining Acme Packet in January 2001, he spent six years in systems engineering, sales and business development at Sema Priority Call. As the vice president of international business development for Sema Priority Call, he managed all activities of the Worldwide Business Development Directors group. Prior to that, as vice president of Caribbean and South America, Mr. Di Palma identified and implemented support teams for sales, business development, and operations throughout the region, and exceeded the region's sales quota by nearly 200 percent. Prior to Sema Priority Call, he worked in the Quebec provincial government in Montreal as a press and political attaché. Mr. Di Palma holds a BA degree in Economics and Political Science from McGill University and an MA degree in Public Policy and Business Administration from Concordia University. |
![]() | Seamus Hourihan Senior Vice President Corporate Strategy Mr. Hourihan—who first coined the term “session border control”— leads the strategic planning process for Acme Packet, evaluating new markets and opportunities to expand the company’s business. He is a prolific speaker on the conference and tradeshow circuit and is the author of several networking guidebooks and numerous articles. Recently, Mr. Hourihan was recognized by Internet Telephony magazine as one of the “Top 100 Voices of IP Communications.” Mr. Hourihan served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Product Management and Marketing from 2001 to 2011. Mr. Hourihan brings over 25 years of experience to Acme Packet in executive management, marketing, product management and business development roles at voice over IP, IP networking, web infrastructure and computer companies. Mr. Hourihan was vice president of marketing for internetworking leader Wellfleet and, after its merger with Synoptics, Bay Networks (now Nortel) for nearly seven years. During his tenure, annual revenue grew from $10 million to $2 billion and Inc. recognized Wellfleet as “America’s Fastest Growing Company” for two consecutive years. Before Acme Packet, Mr. Hourihan was vice president of marketing for Pingtel, widely recognized as a leader in SIP products and technology. He also held management positions at Data General, MASSCOMP and Bright Tiger and has operated his own consulting company. Mr. Hourihan holds an AB degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Babson College. |
![]() | Erin Medeiros Senior Vice President Professional Services Ms. Medeiros brings 16 years of experience in the fields of systems engineering and customer support to her position as Senior Vice President of Professional Services. She joined Acme Packet as the Manager of Systems Engineering from SEMA/Priority Call where she spent 6 years in the systems engineering organization, ultimately managing the team of corporate systems engineers. Under her supervision over the last ten years, the Acme Packet Professional Services organization has grown from one to over 200 people. As the Senior Vice President of Professional Services, she is responsible for the systems engineering, technical support, technical training and premium services groups. Ms. Medeiros holds a BA degree in Marketing from the School of Management at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. |
![]() | John Shields Vice President Manufacturing Operations Mr. Shields is responsible for leading Acme Packet's strategic and operational activities in the areas of supply chain management, product quality, manufacturing technology, product manufacturing and distribution. He joined Acme Packet in May 2002 as director of manufacturing operations to establish the manufacturing processes, systems and infrastructure. Since that time, Mr. Shields has overseen the introduction of six product lines and the worldwide shipment of over 13,000 systems. Prior to joining Acme Packet, he was director of manufacturing for Crescent Networks, where he was responsible for supply chain management, corporate quality, new product introduction and technical operations. Before that, he was director of technical operations for IronBridge Networks, where he was responsible for establishing an outsourced manufacturing model for the company’s core router product. Mr. Shields previously held senior manufacturing and engineering management positions for FORE Systems, Fujitsu Nexion, Xyplex Networks and Lockheed Sanders. He received BS and MS degrees from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and his MBA from New Hampshire College. |
